Sage

A 10 product, modular smart living ecosystem, designed for the next generation of renters. We created Sage so that you can feel at home wherever you end up.

Sage plays nice with other smart products, as it is designed with Matter, so that these products may be integrated into any existing Matter standard IOT, and vice versa.

As the Physical Production Lead, I 3D modeled, directed and completed the construction of each product with the help of my teammates.

Smart Hub

Sage is built out of an 18inch circular mirror, housed in a wooden frame, with a 3D printed bowl attatched. Each peice was prepped painted and finished by hand, and it is constructed using a combination of expoxy, wood glue and screws.

Lull was constructed using traditional wooden joinery to create a frame, in which I fitted floorboards for the large panel. On the overhang, I inlaid LED lights and an acrylic panel to diffuse them. On both sides of the frame, I used speaker mesh to represent the speakers.

Dip is made of a 3D printed housing that I modeled to house a compact aquarium pump, Allowing the prototype to circulate water within a tub, visually representing some of the features of our product.

Wisp is a reconstructed air diffuser product that simulated a flame. I deconstructed the product and created a new housing for it based on a 3D model I designed.

Flow is constructed from a 3D printed showerhead, attatched to standard showerhead equipment. We used BBs to simulate the water filtering system. The showerhead was painted and finished by hand.

Bell is made of 3D printed peices, created to fit onto existing padlocks. It was hand painted and finished. The keypad is made of laser cut oak wood. It was attatched to a custom door frame that we outsourced the construction of.

Dice was constructed using traditional wooden joinery based on a 3D model we designed. The actual construction of the main form was outsourced, then our team added a camera lens and simulated a projection using white ink on clear paper to represent the projections onto a cutting board.
