Yi Xing is an urban commuter sneaker inspired by cyberpunk style. As my first sneaker designed for production in an overseas factory, it is named after myself—my last name roughly translates to 'easy,' which reflects the shoe's laceless, easy-to-wear design.

Yi-Xing was designed within real-world industry constraints, requiring the use of existing public tooling while adapting a pre-existing design to a predetermined theme—Cyberpunk. This project challenged me to balance creativity with manufacturability, reflecting the limitations often faced in commercial footwear design.

The first pullover from the factory had several issues with proportions and functionality. There was also confusion about the material usage. These issues are addressed and communicated through a tech-pack update and revision through redlining
